June 23, 2008

5:00 p.m.

A Special Meeting of the Flagstaff City Council was held on June 23, 2008 convening at 7:46 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 211 West Aspen Avenue, Flagstaff, Arizona.

CALL TO ORDER

The Special Meeting was called to order by Mayor Presler.

On roll call, the following were present:

Consideration of Appointments:  Councilmember liaisons to City boards and commissions and the Coconino County Methamphetamine Task Force, Coconino County Plateau Water Advisory Council, Cocopai Resource and Development Council, County Board of Health, Flagstaff Cultural Partners, Greater Flagstaff Forest Foundation, Incentive Committee, Flagstaff Metropolitan Planning Organization, Northern Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority, and Sister Cities.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Make the appointments.

Councilmember Overton moved to recess into executive session.  The motion was seconded by Councilmember Haughey and passed on unanimous vote.

The City Council reconvened at 9:12 p.m.  Vice Mayor White did not return to the Council Meeting.

Councilmember Brewster moved to appoint Councilmember liaisons to the following City boards and commissions:

The motion was seconded by Councilmember Overton and passed on unanimous vote.

Councilmember Haughey requested that boards and commissions that were not appointed a Councilmember liaison be addressed after the Council’s summer break.

Mayor Presler clarified that as of tonight’s action, only boards and commissions named above will have a Council liaison.  Appointments of liaisons to additional boards and commissions may be made at Council’s discretion.

There being no further business to come before the Council, the Special Meeting was adjourned at 9:17 p.m.
