SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

 

May 26, 2005

3:00 p.m.

 

A Meeting of the Flagstaff City Council as held on May 26, 2005 convening at 3:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 211 West Aspen Avenue, Flagstaff, Arizona.

 

CALL TO ORDER

 

The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Donaldson.

 

1.      PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

Mayor Donaldson asked those present to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

2.      INVOCATION

 

Mayor Donaldson led a moment of silence.

 

3.      ROLL CALL

 

On roll call, the following were present:

Vice-Mayor White

Councilmember Babbott

Councilmember Cooper

Councilmember Haughey

Councilmember Kelty, Excused

Councilmember Silva

 

 

Also present were:

 

 

City Manager, Dave Wilcox

City Attorney, Patricia Boomsma

 

4.

Consideration of Resolution No. 2005-58:  A resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona, declaring official and adopting the results of the special mail ballot election held on May 17, 2005.

 

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Read Resolution No. 2005-58 by title only.

Adopt Resolution No. 2005-58.

 

Vice-Mayor White moved to read Resolution No. 2005-58 by title only, seconded by Councilmember Haughey.

 

Margie Brown, City Clerk, briefly explained the results of the May 17, 2005, special mail ballot election.

 

The motion passed on unanimous vote and title was read as follows:

 

 

Resolution No. 2005-58

 

 

 

A resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona, declaring official and adopting the results of the special mail ballot election held on May 17, 2005.

 

 

Councilmember Haughey moved for adoption, seconded by Vice-Mayor White.  The motion passed on unanimous vote.

 

5.

Consideration of Resolution No. 2005-59:  A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Arizona (“State”) and the City of Flagstaff (“City”) for the design, construction and maintenance of a multi-use trail located under crossings at State Route 66 and U.S. Highway 89 near Lynch Road, and for landscaping and the fourth leg of Cummings Road.

 

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Read Resolution No. 2005-59 by title only.

Adopt Resolution No. 2005-59.

 

Councilmember Cooper moved to read Resolution No. 2005-59 by title only, seconded by Councilmember Haughey.

 

Jeri Dustir, Assistant City Manager, identified that the newly revised intergovernmental agreement distributed to the Council is the form of the agreement for which Council’s approval is sought.  She discussed the changes to the document.

 

The motion passed on unanimous vote and title was read as follows:

Councilmember Babbott moved to adopt Resolution No. 2005-59.  The motion was seconded by Councilmember Cooper and passed on unanimous vote.

 

6.      Adournment of Special Council Meeting.
