NOTICE OF OPTION TO RECESS INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

 

Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Floodplain Board and to the general public that, at this meeting, the Board may vote to go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, for legal advice and discussion with the City’s attorneys for legal advice on the following agenda, pursuant to A.R.S. §38‑431.03(A)(3).

Consideration of Public Hearing:  Request from Flagstaff Shelter Services for a Variance from Ordinance No. 2001-06, “Floodplain Management Regulations”, at 214 W. Phoenix Avenue, Flagstaff.

 

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Open the public hearing.

Receive citizen input.

Close the public hearing.

 

The Stormwater Advisory Committee recommends granting a temporary six (6) month occupancy with the following conditions:

 

 

(1)

An evacuation plan shall be developed by Flagstaff Shelter Services and approved by the City prior to occupancy and all shelter staff shall be educated as to the potential flooding and the evacuation plan;

 

 

(2)

The City Stormwater Section, Fire Department, and Police Department shall have a copy of the evacuation plan and contact information for the Homeless Shelter  in case of emergency; reciprocal contact information for the Stormwater Section, Fire Department, and Police Department shall be provided to the Homeless Shelter; and such contact information shall be used for flood warning purposes; and

 

 

(3)

There shall be concurrence between the parties involved regarding the evacuation plan to a satisfactory development and the City’s Fire Department, Police Department, Stormwater Section, and Flagstaff Shelter Services will do periodic updates to the contact information to ensure that the information is readily available to all parties;

 

 

 

and

 

 

 

Staff recommends waiver of the $300 application fee.
