Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities to volunteer with the City of Flagstaff, and many reasons to volunteer - for specific events, to gain job experience, academic reasons, the list goes on.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact the specific department for which you are looking to volunteer. Click on "City Hall" above, and choose "Contact Us" for a department directory with phone numbers. Although any department may have volunteer opportunities, the majority of our volunteers are in the following departments:
Recreation Services is looking for Volunteers!

Soar Into Spring Kite Festival
      >  Volunteers are needed for set-up, tear down, crafts and festival games
      >  Date:  Saturday, May 16, 2015
      >  Times Needed:
           -  Set-up: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. (must be able to lift 20 lbs.). Bring work gloves and wear closed toe shoes
           -  Event:  11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Help running carnival games and crafts
           -  Tear Down:  3:00 - 6:00 p.m. (must be able to lift 20 lbs.).  Bring work gloves and wear closed toe shoes

  • Recreation - If you have a special interest or want to spend time volunteering with your family, contact Community Events, or pick up an application at the Flagstaff Aquaplex.
  • Would you like to help keep Flagstaff clean and beautiful? Volunteer Opportunities such as Community Clean-ups, Adopt-a-FUTS, and Adopt-an-Avenue await your assistance.

Volunteers will need to complete a Form I-9 in the Human Resources Office, as well as the Non-Payroll Personnel form provided by the department. These forms will need to be completed AFTER a volunteer opportunity has been secured. In order to complete the I-9, you will need to bring appropriate identification; more information about acceptable forms of identification are available through the department or by contacting Human Resources at (928) 213-2090. Volunteers for certain departments may also be required to complete fingerprints at no charge to the volunteer. Volunteers must be age 15 or older.
