This annual event is in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the City of Flagstaff. Residents can bring tree trimmings, leaves, pine needles, flood debris including sandbags & wattles, residential bulky items such as couches & appliances, tires, recycling materials, and residential hazardous waste such as waste oil/gas, gardening products, paints/stains, unbroken fluorescent lamps/cfls and batteries/electronics.

Flagstaff Pulliam Airport is hosting the fifth annual Armed Forces Day Open House on Saturday, May 19, 2012. The event is scheduled to coincide with the parade downtown and is held in recognition of the men and women serving in the military. The Open House begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Airport and ends at 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for attending the Open House. Last year, an estimated 2,500 people attended the event and were able to view 15 aircraft that were on display. This year, the Airport is expecting to display an F-16, T-45’s, several military helicopters, and possibly an F-18 Harrier, along with a few kit planes. DPS and Guardian Air are invited to the event and usually display their helicopters, and the City’s snow and ARFF equipment will be on display as well. The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) helps set up the event and provides free flights for children between 8 and 17 years of age, with parental approval.
