The Arizona Department of Water Resources offers a lot of great water conservation tips, a listing of events, and Flagstaff-specific information.  Visit their Water Awareness page at http://arizonawaterawareness.com for year-round, regional and seasonal information including the scoop on activities, information and water tips as well as drought status reports and the strategic vision.

March 8-14
was the National Groundwater Association's (NGWA) National Groundwater Awareness Week.  The Utilities Division would like to recognize the importance of the C-aquifer to the residents and businesses of Flagstaff, as well as to the surrounding communities including Doney Park, Mountainaire, Kachina Village, the Hopi and Navajo tribes, and Winslow.  Other communities, such as Baderville and Fort Valley, and some living within the county islands embedded in City Limits, rely on shallow "perched" aquifers for their water supply.
