Physical activity is an important part of overall health. Many people do it to improve cardiovascular health, build muscle, or to look and feel good. With the madness we all experience having such busy lives, it can seem hard get up and get moving every day. What many people do not realize is, making the time for activity can actually keep you from going mad.



There is much more than what is on the surface with physical activity. Being active is also good for the mind. Just a few minutes of moderate exercise can give you a mood enhancement effect that is felt instantly. This can be as simple as going for a 15 minute walk every 

day, making sure you stand up from your desk every hour, or attending one of our fitness classes offered in the evening.

Meet Samantha!

Samantha Flatland obtained her Bachelor of Science from

Arizona State University in Nutrition Dietetics. She has spent the last 5 years in the food industry, and now is the Nutrition Health Coach

for Flagstaff Natural Grocers. As a newer resident to the area, Samantha is excited to take advantage of the beautiful scenery exploring new hiking trails and all that Flagstaff has to offer!

ALL employees are welcome to attend any of our onsite biometric screenings for FREE! Screenings include flu shots during the flu season. You can opt out of the flu shot.

Welcome Ruth!





We're pleased to announce that Ruth DeBoard, Family Nurse Practitioner, is joining Vera Whole Health as a full time provider!



Ruth comes to Vera after spending time teaching doctoral students in nursing and business, and providing care for the

 Navajo Nation/Dine people in emergency/urgent care and internal medicine. 



Ruth decided Vera Whole Health was a great fit for her because it provides patients with comprehensive options to improve health. 



To sum it up, she often says, "health is life".

 







ChallengeFinancial Challenge Coming in April



April 3 - May 5 will be our first ever Financial Challenge!



Take part in a 5 week financial challenge. 

Learn about a different financial topic each week through in-person talks or webinars and additional online resources with the help of the Arizona Central Credit Union and Coconino County's Community Service Department. 





Topics include:

  • Budgeting
  • Relationships with money
  • Goals and Savings
  • Paying off Debt
  • Investing

You will log your progress in the Wellness Portal answering weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly questions. And can earn up to 8 Wellness Points with everything completed!

If I use the Wellness Portal, what do you do with my information?

All of the information you enter into the wellness portal is kept off site, on servers protected by law. Your information is not shared with your employer or Human Resources department. Your employer is given a list of employees who have earned an incentive but not your personal health information. Your employer does not have access to the wellness portal. The information that is shared is a summary of the entire population without any uniquely identifiable information. Here is an example of a report your employer might see:
