The ProcessLake Mary Water Treatment Plant
The treatment process used for Flagstaff's water depends on the source of supply being used. Groundwater from wells is disinfected with chlorine. Surface water is treated at one of the City's two water treatment plants.

Lake Mary Water Treatment Plant
The Lake Mary Water Treatment Plant, located on Lake Mary Road, can treat up to eight million gallons of water per day from Upper Lake Mary. It is a conventional water treatment plant that includes coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection.

Reservoir Filtration Plant
Inner Basin water is treated at the Reservoir Filtration Plant. Here, water is Resevoir Filtration Plantfiltered and disinfected with chlorine. Ultraviolet radiation is used to kill harmful, disease-causing bacteria that may be present in the water.
