DRAFT La Plaza Vieja Neighborhood Vision Statement from November 12, 2008 meeting:

La Plaza Vieja will be a neighborhood in which respect and preservation of the cultural and historical dignity of the neighborhood is preserved, where growth and development respects this by maintaining the architectural language and historical names, and where the culture of the community is enhanced by way of a diverse population, housing choices, a community center full of social and educational activities for children and adults, and jobs are provided by local business growth.  La Plaza Vieja will preserve a number its historical homes, infill vacant lots with appropraite buildings and provide safe and beautiful passage for pedestrians, bicycles and cars within the neighborhood and connecting to adjacent neighborhoods.

If you have suggestions for this vision statement, e-mail Kimberly Sharp or attend the next La Plaza Vieja Neighborhood Plan Visioning meeting.
