Earth Day 2017 was a huge success! The event kicked off with a successful community service filled-morning with 78 volunteers contributing 117 service hours to clean up over 85 bags of trash and recycling. The afternoon event attracted over 2,000 attendees and 50 local organizations and vendors. Earth Day 2017 featured live performances from Sambatuque, Heartwood and The Sundowners. There were three free workshops including backyard chicken keeping, backyard goat keeping and honeybees.
Earth Day 2018 is just around the corner and in a new location! The event will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 at Bushmaster Park from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, with a community cleanup from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. We will add food trucks to the mix this year!

Community Clean-up: Community volunteers will meet at Bushmaster Park at the east side skating rink to conduct a community/neighborhood clean up at 9:00 a.m.(please arrive around 8:30 a.m. to sign in) and return to Bushmaster Park by 10:30 a.m. Sign up here for the community clean up or contact Maggie Twomey at MTwomey@flagstaffaz.gov We will be assigning groups of volunteers to different neighborhood areas and are looking for Clean-Up Leaders to lead these groups. Please indicate your willingness to be a Clean-Up Leader when you sign up. Whole Foods Market will be providing volunteers with coffee and breakfast fare.
