Press Release: Winter Storm Snow Operations Update (PDF) In January 2017, Northern Arizona and the City of Flagstaff experienced a series of three significant winter storms, ranking in the top ten winter storm events in Flagstaff history. During this series of three storm events, the amount of total snowfall recorded at the Flagstaff Airport totaled 37 inches, significantly impacting schools, businesses, and operations in the City of Flagstaff. Flagstaff received up to 45 inches in the northern part of town. Total snowfall at the Airport for this winter season has been 64.1 inches with 43.6 inches of that falling in January alone.
