Mulch Products

The mulch is available free-of-charge, to residential residents (no commercial contractors). You may want to call in advance to check on availability. Please remember you will need to bring your own containers and hand tools for loading. Quantity is limited to one truck or trailer, per month per customer. Mulch is available at this location:  

  • Cinder Lake Landfill

Bulky Green/Wood Waste

If you have larger branches or roots you can drop these off at the Cinder Lake Landfill and they will be mulched on-site.

Tree Cycling (Christmas Tree Pick-Up)


The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office and Solid Waste Section are proud to provide a treecycling service during the month of January.

Trees will be chipped and used in the City's parks and beautification projects in the new year. 

Curbside Pick-up: January 2nd - January 6th, 2023

Place trees on curb by 6:00 am on Monday (1/2/23)

Drop-off Locations: January 2nd - January 23rd, 2023

Residents without a trash pickup service or those living in multifamily housing can recycle their trees by taking them to one of several 24-hour drop-off locations:

- Thorpe Park Annex - 419 N. Mogollon St
- Continental Little League Field - 5700 E. Old Walnut Canyon Rd
- Jay Lively Activity Center - 1650 N Turquoise Dr

Please remove all lights, tinsel, and ornaments in advance. Only real trees will be accepted. 

***Please note that the drop-off location at University Highlands Park is no longer available.
