At the direction of the Flagstaff City Council, city staff has been working on an amendment to the Land Development Code that would allow alternate wind energy systems (i.e. wind turbines) under ten kilowatts to be installed on commercial and industrial zoned properties greater than a half-acre in area within the Flagstaff city limits.
This ordinance supports the City of Flagstaff's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide opportunities for business owners to reduce power costs through generating their own energy.
The purpose of the public meeting is to present the ordinance and collect feedback from Flagstaff citizens and other interested persons.
