Flagstaff residents are invited to participate in volunteer days this spring and summer to help prepare neighborhoods for the upcoming monsoon season. Volunteers can assist with activities including filling sandbags, placing or removing sandbags or removing debris from channels and drainages. A list of planned events and additional details are below.
Sandbag preparation | Friday, May 19 (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.)
- Assist with preparing sandbags for community members.
- Meet at the sandbag station in front of Coconino County Health and Human Services - 2625 N King St.
- Arrive by 8:45 a.m. to sign-in, have coffee, and receive safety information.

Watershed Clean Up series | First Saturdays June through August (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.)
- Help clean up sections of the Rio de Flag by removing trash, debris, invasive species, and trimming channel-blocking vegetation.
- June 3, July 1, and August 5, multiple locations

- Help prepare sandbags for community members and assist residents with placing or removing sandbags.
