Flagstaff’s Pedestrian Awareness Week is an annual series of events, held during the first week in October, that celebrates Flagstaff's walkable character and raises awareness of walkability issues in the community.
The week is organized by the City of Flagstaff's Pedestrian Advisory Committee and Disability Awareness Commission, the Coconino County Safe Kids Coalition, Injury Prevention Program, and Safe Routes to School Program, the Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (NAIPTA), and the Flagstaff Metropolitan Planning Organization, as well as numerous volunteers, and is planned to coincide with International Walk to School Day.
This year's Pedestrian Awareness Week will be held September 30 through October 7, 2009, and will include a variety of fun, informative events.
