Come celebrate 50 Miles of FUTS and Make a Difference Day on October 23, 2010 as part of the City of Flagstaff's community-based project to restore and enhance the Rio de Flag Greenbelt and FUTS trail between Foxglenn Park and the road to the Humane Society.
This volunteer project will work on improving wildlife habitat, reclaiming open space, and stabilizing floodplain and drainage areas. We’ll have teams working on picking up trash and debris throughout the area, seeding and planting native vegetation, creating two rest stops along the trail, and removing noxious weeds.
To sign-up in advance as a volunteer, contact Connor Boyle by email or at (928) 779-7685 ext 7224. Drop-ins are welcome also. Please bring a hat, work gloves, sturdy shoes, and tools (shovel or rake) if you have them. Lunch and some tools will be provided.
