The City’s Capital Improvements Program is working on the design of the West and Arrowhead Improvement Project. The project includes improvements to West Street and Arrowhead Avenue from Cedar Avenue to Route 66. Improvements include full asphalt roadway reconstruction, sidewalk, curb/gutter, storm drain, water and sewer improvements, and landscaping.
The project is divided into two construction phases. Phase I includes West Street from Cedar Avenue to just south of the Sixth Avenue intersection. Phase II includes the remainder of West Street and Arrowhead Avenue south to Route 66. Phase I is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2012, and Phase II is scheduled for the summer of 2013.
Interested in learning more? Our first Public Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Coconino High School Commons Room. City staff and the local design consultants will be on hand to present project information, address questions, and receive comments and suggestions.
